Are you interested in careers in law enforcement, new media and animation, graphic design, broadcast communications, psychology, history or art, you will find your home in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
In the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Science, there's a lot of opportunities for students to pursue. I, personally, am a political science major. And the degrees also range from criminal justice all the way to performing arts, theater, and art education.
If you want to be a performing artist, there are great opportunities here, especially with music and theater. Theater, they put on various plays across the semester, across the year. And they do it like professionals. I know they treat it like professionals, the set is professional. And for the music majors, you know, whether it's marching band or wind ensembles, they get to go out. And they don't just perform here, they perform across the city of Hammond.
They've gone out to other cities and performed. And they get to showcase their music.
Ultimately, my dream is to be a play-by-play commentator for a professional sports team, collegiate sports team, whatever that is. And Southeastern has really prepared me for that. The communications department, the Southeastern Channel, that's an award winning channel. I've been able to do things that I only dreamed about.
I've been able to broadcast Division I NCAA sporting events as a student. There's not a program anywhere else that's going to give you this opportunity and prepare you for the real world, and truly see if this is something that you want to do for the rest of your life. And in my case, it is.
